DESCRIPTION: Endeavour® Finishing Oil is formulated from Natural Plant
Oils/Extracts (incl. Pure Tung Oil). Designed to maintain your timber’s
nourishment needs with a "CLEAR" or "GOLD TEAKWOOD" finishing option. As a genuine oil finish will not crack, blister or peel.

INTERIOR USE:
Finishing (under the 2 coat system advised) and maintaining
internal cabinetry. Options from low sheen to quality patina.

EXTERIOR USE:
Finishing (matt) and maintaining oil-primed, or prior oil-finished timbers (last oiled within 4 months - If greater, or in doubt, refer to Endeavour® Priming Oil use first).
SIZES AVAILABLE: 500ml, 1 litre and 2 litre cans

1. EXPOSED TEAK (and other) DECKING:

Given ‘grip’ and dirt/dust collection issues it is not prudent to over-oil decks. Either stay with light, occasional oiling with Priming Oil (pref. “Gold Teakwood”) or apply the wax-sealing finish offered by Endeavour-White Wax (following page/s).

NOTES ON PRIOR/EXISTING TIMBER FINISHES:
INTERNALLY – If existing finish is a Teak or Danish style oil you may use Finishing Oil
as a rejuvenation product (wipe on/wipe off). If a coating style varnish this product should
NOT be used over.
EXTERNALLY – Refer to Priming Oil notes i) and ii) on previous page.

2. CLEAR or COLOUR ENHANCING OPTIONS:

Oval: CLEAR

CLEAR oil-primed projects may be completed with the same Finishing Oil option. You may also apply the “CLEAR” Finish over our “Gold Teakwood Priming Oil should you wish to restrict depth of colour. Again, “CLEAR” is your prudent choice for wood attached to fibreglass/gelcoat (unless you are masking and are very careful).

Oval: GOLD TEAK WOOD enhancer Gold Teakwood Finishing Oil provides greater resistance to surface fading from U-V rays, with resulting less frequency of re-oiling. When applying over a CLEAR (our Priming Oil or other) it may take several maintenance cycles to attain colour depth. Timber’s best capacity to accept colour enhancement is when it is clean and raw (consider this when Priming).

KEY PREPARATION ADVICE (before applying Finishing Oil):
a) Ensure timber is clean and dry.
b) THE PREPARATORY DRY-SANDING GRITS ARE IMPORTANT. For INTERIOR
(where higher standards of results are expected) sand through the grit papers. For EXTERIOR (where grip considerations may apply) sand surfaces lightly with 240 grit sandpaper - promotes the closing/tightening of open-grained timbers such as teak.
c) We recommend the masking up of surrounding, non-timber formwork. The colourants in “Gold Teakwood enhancer” would stain gelcoat/fibreglass etc., quickly rubbing spills with wood alcohol (methylated spirits) may alleviate.

KEY APPLICATION ADVICE:
a) With the initial application of Finishing Oil: apply light, even coat with brush or applicator, leaving for 20-30 minutes, then rub in/off excess oil with lint-free cloth.

b) When maintaining/re-oiling: wipe over areas with oil-dampened, lint-free cloth (store oily rag/s in sealed glass jar, for re-use, and to avoid self-combustion of incorrectly stored/disposed rags).

COVERAGE: 14 – 18 square metres of surface area per litre.

MAINTENANCE:
INTERNALLY: Yearly, and after ensuring surfaces are clean and dry, cloth-wipe or mist-sprays on, leave for several minutes, then dry cloth-buff over.

EXTERNALLY : Again, firstly ensure surfaces are clean and dry. If using “CLEAR” option: lightly re-oil every 2-3 months. Where using “Gold Teakwood” option: lightly re-oil every 4-6 months.

SPECIAL NOTE: Existing Priming Oil / Finishing Oil projects may shift to Endeavour®
White Wax
, though note “last-oiled” parameters. Once having moved to waxing, DO NOT
apply oil on top of you can (and may need to) reapply Priming Oil should the wax finish be exposed to weather for longer than its performance parameter of 12 months.
